Lois Jordan Strickland
March 28, 1924 - August 03, 2009
Lois Jordan Strickland, 85 died Monday August 3, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Toombs County and lifelong resident of Savannah. Mrs. Strickland was a member of Savannah Christian Church and the Fidelis/Senior Saints Sunday School Class. She was a member and treasurer of the Bonifide Lodge 211 of the Railroad Auxillary and was an avid bowler. Mrs. Strickland retired as the bookkeeper from the K-Mart Corporation after many years of service.
She was a lovely and vibrant lady who loved life and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph Strickland.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law; Barbara and Doyle Todd, of Savannah and Deloris Brannen Keith and Dr. Marshall Keith, of Fancy Gap, Virginia. Also surviving are five grandchildren and their spouses; Sharon and Rodney Kauhane, Sheila and Johnny Bryan, Melissa and Sam Peters, Randy Brannen, and Danny and Angie Brannen. Also seven great-grandchildren; Derek Kauhane, Kristen Kauhane, Nathan Bryan, Stephen Bryan, Lauren Brannen, Megan Brannen, and Mitchell Brannen, and three special cousins, Carl Preslar, of Reidsville, Mildred Wiggins and Louise Williams, both of Savannah and her special caretaker of many years, Pat Aikens.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 7, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Remembrances may be made to Savannah Christian Church, 55 Al Henderson Blvd., Savannah, Georgia 31419 or the Bryan County Health and Rehabilitation Center, 127 Carter Street, Richmond Hill, Georgia 31324.
The family would especially like to thank the entire staff of the Bryan County Health and Rehabilitation Center for their love and care for Mrs. Strickland.
